ABOUT KUBO

KUBO is a one-of-a-kind Filipino food experience in Belfast.

Born from tradition and family recipes, we strive to bring the flavours of the Philippines to Northern Ireland through modern techniques while educating about the unique Filipino culture through food, events and supper clubs.

Kubo is home to Belfast's first authentic Kamayan Kit -

boodle style, Banana leaf lined boxes filled with authentic Filipino dishes!

MEET THE CREW

NALLAINE

Born in The Philippines and raised in Toronto, Canada, Nallaine has been working in the industry as a chef for 12 years eventually taking her from Toronto to London then to Belfast!
Nallaine founded Kubo just two months before the start of the pandemic with the determination to showcase the deep food history and culture of The Philippines. She strives to showcase not only authentic Filipino food but to educate more about the amazing Filipino culture!

CHAI

Chai is an absolute gem! Born and raised in the Filipino province of Kapampanga and working as a nurse, Chai found herself moving to London where she worked as a personal assistant! She never forgot her roots and her love of Filipino food and her mother home! She moved to Belfast after marrying her husband where she's taken her experiences and love of Filipino food to eventually become such an integral part of the Kubo Crew!

Margret

Margret manages our social media, blending her Filipino-Scottish background and diverse upbringing across Asia. She sought a change of scenery and moved to Belfast, where she felt a pull towards KUBO because of her Filipino heritage. She also has a puppy called Hallie who she is obsessed with, who you might be able to spot on our social media!
